I already had a Utopia backrest so I purchased just the Khrome Werks armrest.WOW!! Quality construction in every way.The chrome heavy-duty mounting bracket mounts to the seat hand bars making for the strongest armrest I think are made. The installation was very easy and the included mounting bolts worked great. I would recommend these over any others especially those that mount to the fragile trunk sides and it sure is nice being able to open the trunk without having to swing them out as with other brands.GREAT PRODUCT!!

This is a good product. The finish is excellent, installation was quick and it works well. My wife was used to a bag for small stuff behind the backrest on the 1500 and is missing a bag behind this backrest. Other than that, it's a good investment.

Would have given the armrests 5 stars if they would have fit on my 2010 GL1800. Left one installed perfectly without crowding the passenger heat control, but the right one was impossible to install because the Hondaline passenger audio contol was in the way. Shame because they're really nice.

This was a really great addition to my bike. I tend to go on mid-length trips (300+ miles one way). The adjustable backrest worked perfect for me in the center position. The rear armrests are solid and do not have to be swung out when opening the trunk. I loved the easy installation using the existing mounting holes. It took me less than an hour to complete. Great product all the way around.

Super easy install and looks great. I never thought I would want a backrest so I originally purchased just the armrests. After hurting my back I decided to add the backrest. They don't have a kit to add backrest to existing armrest version so I had to purchase the whole assembly again. Live and learn. Anyway, works great for me and wife.

I have the backrest only and plan to purchase the arm rests soon. The product is First Class. Excellant fit and very strong. A must for longer solo rides. The brackets mount close to the bike, out of the way and look great. When mounting brackets be sure to start your bolts by hand before putting a wrench to them. A little silicone on the underside of the head of the bolt will keep any marring of the metal when tightening down the bolts. Tighten bolts evenly for a good fit.

Love this product! Added to my Utopia back rest.Didn't get the backrest combo because of complaints about the bars rubbing the passenger legs. I chose this product because my wife is very short and uses the armrests to help her get on the bike. They are attached to the passenger handles and are therefor very sturdy. The packaging is very good and the items are of very good quality. Other armrests bolt to the back trunk which can be a recipe for disaster. Any excess pressure or weight will cause the trunk to break $$$$. These are very easy to install, and remove if needed, though re-aligning the bolts on install can be a bear. you may also have to tighten the bolts the first couple of times you ride just to seat them. Though the armrests rotate outward for easy passenger loading, I like the fact that you can open the trunk without having to flip out the rests. The wife loves them. One suggestion: go to your local hardware store and get fiber or teflon washers for both ends of the long attachment bolts of both sides. Helps the armrests rotate and saves on the finish. WARNING: This product has been known to cause drowsiness in the passenger on long rides!

Very sturdy construction & easy assembly! I love the fact that you can open the trunk without having to move the armrests. One little suggestion: Spend 18 cents at your local hardware store and purchase self-locking nuts for the long screws. The original nut must've gotten either cross threaded or torqued too high (my fault), but the bolt broke on the first ride. NOW IT WORKS PERFECTLY! Great purchase......

Awesome unit. I chose the Khrome werks because the armrest do not attach to the trunk. I was worried about the trunk getting busted. Nice crome, back rest is awesome I can't see myself rideing without one ever again. Installed this in about 1/2 hour was easy. Girlfriend loves the armrest keeps her in the bike when she sleeps.

I bought the arm rest only. Installed in less then 20 minutes. No drilling or cutting required. High quality and appear to be very strong. My wife says they are comfortable, but wishes the pads were a little further back.

For sure 5 stars, 6 if I could give it. I am running a Utopia backrest so I only got the armrest portion. Design is good and execution is flawless. All welds are TIG and not MIG which is normaly used by cut rate manufacturers. (TIG good, MIG not so.....) I initialy looked at the ones made by that other fella but the fact that they mounted to a plastic trunk bothered me. It really bothered me when I saw a feshly installed set at a dealers and it had two large yellow stickers, one on each armrest, that essentially said look at me I'm pretty but don't lean on me because I'm fragile. (It reminded me of plastic glove compartment doors with too much in the glove compartment. (Honest, I didn't push it really hard)) Any way, I ordered the Krome Werks units. I was concerned as the pictures shown on Wingstuff give the impression that all clearances are very tight. Not so. There is at least 3/4" under the swivel to the saddlebag and it clears my rear seat heat control by at least 1/4". The bolting supplied is actually a better grade than what the Honda gnomes supplied and hey, you can open the trunk up with the arms in place! I tried putting some weight on them and I figure you would have to exceed 200 pounds before there was any problem. (I weigh 150 and they didn't give an inch) So fellow Wingers, if you want something that works, is designed well, and is well made, I would recommend these in a heartbeat.

We got just the armrests, recommended by other 1800 friends. I was a hold-out, but these are great. This was our best choice because: installation was easy, no drilling required, comfortable position, substantial feel. BEST part: Opening the boot does NOT require that you move these aside. Cool, very good looking too.

Easy installation & quality is very good but the adjustments are not good for me. I need to use the middle position but angle of the backrest does not feel good. Bending the tubes back achieves the desired feel. This the second one I have purchased. I give this four stars due to the lack of more adjustability.

Nice looking and very simple to install. I like that the passenger arm rest have a good support, but would like to see a little more adjustment to the back rest… first position is too far forward, the second works best and the third is ok but just a bit too far back for my 5’ 9” height. I also like how the back rest folds forward to allow the passenger easy access. The passenger is a little cramped but the back rest is very easy to remove and still have the passenger arm rests for the shorter trips… Just came back from a 1200 mile trip down California PCH 1 and 101 to LA and all thou it took a few hundred miles to get used to it, I’m very glad I had it… Made the ride a whole lot more comfortable. Thou a bit expensive from the other back rests its well build and looks good…

Once you get it mounted they do what they are supposed to. However, if you have the audio/CB controls, buy something else. I bought the backrest/passenger armrest combo package. It has one mounting bracket that the backrest and armrests mount on. I tried putting on the right (throttle) side first. The bracket does not really fit with the passenger audio controls. I finally made it fit, made it I say, by pushing down on the audio controls about 1/2 to 3/4 inch and forcing the bracket on. Luckily the control still work, but now there is a good size gap between the controls and the rear trunk. Does not look or line up clean. I bought these because I didn't want to have to drill into the trunk for the Kuryakyn. Now I wish I would have bought them. Also it is a bear to get the armrests to mount in the brackets. Let me say it was a pain in the butt. Took both me and my wife to make it fit.

One quick update: Finally found something I don't like about them! Just kidding. It's a minor inconvenience if anything, but in order to remove the seat bolts you will need to remove the vertical arm with the pad on top. Sure wouldn't keep me from buying them again. I'm in and out of the trunk a lot and absolutely love these little guys.

Love this item !!! Purchaced the combo. No more pain in the neck on long trips. Very comfortable. My wife loves it, on long trips she will fall asleep with no worries about falling. One of the best things you can buy for looks and comfort. Installs in minutes just remove the 4 bolts that hold the passenger hand grips and install.

Now, I have the advantage of saying these are replacing a different set of armrests. My bike came with a set of the Add-On/Kuryakyn type that mount under the antenna masts. I truly did not like this type of arm rest for several reasons: 1) They had to be moved out of the way to open the trunk. 2) They actually cracked my rear speaker grille. 3) They had to be moved out of the way to open the trunk. 4) If my wife put any kind of weight on them when adjusting her position I would cringe waiting for the trunk lid to crack. 5) They had to be moved out of the way to open the trunk. Hated the d@mn things. When I got the Khrom Werks armrests I had to laugh. They are a bit of a pain to unwrap as has been stated. The install really was easy, even for a 10 thumbs like me. While the instructions were ok, it was easy to figure out without them. The construction and finish are excellent, everything lined right up and the fit is tight. All materials used seem more than up to the task at hand. There is more than enough room between the bottom of the arm rests vertical bar and the saddlebags which was a concern for me. Couldn’t really tell from the pictures on the website, but after they were installed I’m satisfied there will be absolutely no problems. Well, the armrests are great. The wife loves them, THE TRUNK CAN BE OPENED WITHOUT MOVING THEM OUT OF THE WAY, and the wife can put weight on them while adjusting her position without giving me heart palpitations. Really cool.
