Easy to install following their written instructions. The OEM connection wires on the GL1800 are hidden inside the bottom engine ledge, but if you follow the other wires, they are there, just covered with black tape and a dummy electrical plug insert which you need to remove. The left pocket needs to be removed and the large gray wiring adapter uncoupled from the plastic tie down, and this makes the install of the OEM lighted button a snap. I used the power bypasss connector so the lights are on when I want them, as opposed to when the low beams are on. I was impressed with the ease of installation and glad I did the work to save $$$. I only can give this 4 stars because I had a defective bulb after 4 hours of driving and have asked for a replacement. I have to remove the cowl to replace the bulb, which will result in another 45 mins or labor. So far I am awaiting the replacement of the 35W bulb from Wingstuff (Tim) who obtained this product from Big Bike Parts in Wiconsin (which I do not understand this relationship). I will let you know how the hassle of getting a bulb goes.

I just purchased these this past weekend. They are a replacement for the Kuryakyn style driving lights I purchased about a month ago. I was not at all impressed with the Kuryakyns. (See review there) I instantly liked how these fill the entire cutout and seem to put out more light. As most have said, the instructions need some help. One thing was the small spacer on the right side mount, per the instructions, is only for '01 - '05 models. I have a '09 and it is definately needed on my bike. After installing the Kuryakyns and then these I would recommend going to the Kuryakyn web site and printing the instructions for their lights. They have step by step pictures and desriptions. Obviously they are not the same lights but the steps for completing the install are very similar as are the brackets and the spacers, especially on the seft side mount. Between the two sets of instructions it should be a breeze.

Installed the Clear version on a 2009 no airbag. Installation is pretty straight forward. I agree with others that the instructions could be a bit more detail in some areas. Also agree with another reviewer that it is probably easier to mount the brackets first, then attach the lights to the brackets. It would have made it easier to see if you are pinching cables behind the brackets or not. Also, when it comes time to install the switch, it is easier to remove the left side glove box, disconnect the connector to the panel under the glove box, then remove the panel as the instructions state. If you don't disconnect the cable, its not long enough to work with the panel while trying to install the switch. The black-4-pin plug on the 2009 is in the cable boot just above and to the right of the lower left cowling vent. The light in the switch is white, however, a much brighter white as compared to the rest of the OEM lights. On the other hand, it makes it easier to find the switch at night. As far as adjustment, I agree with others, Show Chrome needs to do some work on that. Instructions say to back off from a wall to 16 feet, then measure the distance from floor to center of fog lights (about 15 inches or so), then go to the wall and place a mark on the wall at the same distances (about 15 inches above floor). I did all of this, and with the adjustment screws pretty much all of the way out, I still couldn't reach the mark on the wall. However, the fog lights do a fairly good job of lighting up the area in front of and to the side of the bike. Remember these are not headlights, but FOG lights. Another nice thing, is that the cable from the switch is designed so you can easily switch out the relay for the jumper plug if you decide you want the fog lights to function as OEM or stay on during high-beam. I found the lights to be of very good quality. If you need replacement lens or bulbs, they are available from Big Bike Parts Replacement Lens 10-604L Replacement Bulb 10-2604 (12V 34W).

I researched these intisively and these are the best for the money. I didn't get the LED model because the lenses for these are only $10. For the same reason, I won't be getting lens protectors. My biggest gripe is the lights only light up the area below your vision. This is great in a parking lot, but useless on the road. The adjusting screw is twice as long as the screw. I will be getting a longer screw, or maybe just spacing with washers. This will allow higher aiming.

I went with the blue/white model and love the look they give the front of my bike. Install was pretty easy and took about an hour. At night they put out an okay amount of light around the front wheel of the bike. I loved the fact that they come with a factory switch and bypass that allows me to keep them on when using the high beams. I would certainly buy these ones again.

put these in without too much problem but adjusting them just doesn't seem to work. Instructions just aren't that clear on where the adjusting screw goes in my opinion but they do look great and I think they get attention even in daylight. I run them and my highbeems (pointed down) and I think it flashes pretty good in the rear view mirrors ahead of me when I'm ready to pass. 4 cause of the adjustment screw and instructions don't mention the wing has an adapter that has to be removed to get the right male to female connection (panic until I figured that one out).

These are a very nice safety item as they do help light up the shoulder of the road.I would have given it 5 stars if the schematics in the directions would have been easier to understand-I'm mechanically inclined and found them confusing so went to this web-site http://www.goldwingfacts.com/1800foglightfitting.htm and studied the pictures and watched the video of the guy installing them and it made things a lot clearer.I spent over half an hour trying to find the plug-in for the new switch (under the left faring pocket) and would probably still be looking but went back to the video and saw where the guy found it.All in all I'm glad I got them-just be patient and take your time.

I have the Blue Lights and they look great in the Chrome Lower Cowl. They light up the edge of the road and work even better in the corners. I use them day and night and feel safer all around. Easy to install, take your time one step at a time. I wired them so I have full control of the on/off switch. Personal preference.

I agree with the other reviews, great product and adds safety from a visibility standpoint both for the rider and others. Instructions were adequate but the schematics could have been better. Install was straight forward, only real complaint is while the switch location looks stock and mounts on the left side fairing the backlight is amber colored and on my 2008 Wing all the button backlights are white so it looks a little funny.

I have the blue/white style and they make the bike look good. I had the opportunity to use them on my ride back home from Sonora, CA. Driving at night on country roads can be treacherous but with the extra light these put out, I felt more secure, especially going around curves.

One of those items that you probably wouldn't really appreciate until you have it. I use them both day and night and feel safer during the day with them on. At night they are really nice when making a turn.

Easy install and does meke the bike more noticable, but any idea of adjustment is pretty much a myth. They do a good job of lighting up the sides of the road and keep light shining on the road during hard turns where there use to be a dark hole. Well worth the money.

Seem to be a quality product. I installed these recently on my 2004 GL1800. Installation was fairly straight forward. Instructions could have been a bit clearer, but I found them to be adequate. Lights work well and I like that all the connections for the lights and the switch plug into the existing connectors in the wiring harness.

So easy to install. I don't care if you've never held a hand tool in your life, you can install these. They really help to illuminate all the things you thought you didn't need to see in the road. A must if you drive your bike in the dark (and who doesn't?).

One of those items that is a must have. I have mine on all the time.. i like to be seen ... and at night they sure broaden your path and we all know what the pot holes are like. These help to avoid those dangerous things as well as other creatures of the night...

Any time that I can add a light to my bike the better it looks and the better it can be seen in traffic. Easy enough install with plug and play for my 08 GL1800.

Great Product. Easy install. Only about an hour or so. I too liked the factory switch. Didn't use the relay. Wanted to be able to hit high beams momentarily if needed and not have the fogs go off.

Nice product. Quality is good and installation is fairly easy. The only two complaints I have: the installation instructions need some serious updating and clarification. The aiming process is a bit tedious too. Other than those two minor things these are a very good product.

I had this installed at Wingstuff along with a luggage rack. First class service and workmanship. They even changed out the lenses for me after I ordered the wrong color. I haven't had much occassion to use the lights yet so can't address illumination, but I love the appearance. Will be adding the chrome cowl and timing cover soon.
