I installed these and did not have to cut any notches to make them fit. It was a tight fit so I removed the trim and adjusted the mounts out a tad and the trim snapped right on. I did try to remove and replace the trim piece again and it worked great. We rode on a 72 degree day here a week or so ago in Houston and we never noticed the heat thing. Should be interesting this summer. The wife really noticed a lot less wind noise and baffling to her helmet. that made her happy. Hey they look great too. Thanks. Chris

The Dragon wing will only fit if you cut notches on the plastic trim on your bike, and the middle screw/nut touches the paint on the bike. The dir that that give never say anything about cutting notches, and for the money I spent for a piece of plastic you would think it would have at least fit.I sent it back for a return. In my opinion its junk and I would not recommend it!

I have had these on the bike since July and i really like them. They totally cut down on the amount of wind blowing up the back and really come into their own in a headwind. Yes they deflect the heat from the rads down to the feet but, in this part of Canada, is only a concern for maybe a month. Great for cooler weather riding. Sides, the upper adjustable vents and the other openings in the wings allow for airflow onto the rider in hot weather. They really add a cool look to the fairing also. Recommended by me anyway. Cheers!!!

Great product , only have them on a week and living the Northeast, they are a must if you ride in winter months like I do. I work nights and let me tell ya it is a nice ride in afternoon to work but after that sun goes down it gets a bit nippy. Rode home the other night and it was 35 degrees , and would not have know it with the wings on, hands warm and even legs and feet didn't get cold. Although as others have stated they probably will need to come off for summer riding No Biggy, my reason for purchase was to be able to ride in cold weather and be comfortable. They do work great. Wish Kuryakyn would come up with a set of lowers to install for summer riding to keep heat off legs in warmer weather. To be honest at first glance of the Gold Wing with these on , you don't even notice them, not like other air deflectors I have seen on some machines. They work and recommend to anyone wanting to ride in colder weather and enjoy riding for the sake of riding. Ride safe !!

I ordered these to try something different and they are different. Very stylish and easy to install. The issue is that in Alabama the air flow is directed down over the rider and co-riders feet making it very hot as this forces heat coming from the radiators down over them as well. The vents located in the main part of the wings only forces air in the directions of your hand grips. The deflectors under the mirrors work fine. I would not recommend these to someone in a hot area of the country unless they like to slow bake.

5 stars for me, personally, but they're not for everyone. When it's cold out I only get cold when I get OFF the bike! I knew after the first ride that these would have to come off for summer. Way too much heat in the cockpit. So, I'll install in fall and remove in spring - no biggie. Just 6 bolts. You don't get much in the box for the price but it will be worth it on that first cold day!

Update from 7-18-08 review. I like the wings, but they seem to pull way to much heat off the radiators in warm weather. I cut about 6" off the bottom,if that does not help I'm taking them off.

Just plan and simple they perform just the way that they said it would. Noticed reduction of wind turbulence almost immediately after installing them. The wind ports allows enough to come through to help you cool down during the heat of the day with out all the turbulence. Of course when it is hot it is hot regardless of what you can do. The only draw back in the bracket set up is how close they come to the paint work when you have to make adjustments. Thumbs Up!!

These things really work. When needed, they absolutely eliminate cold air on the hands. They do direct warm air from the radiators down toward the drivers chins and feet. This might be a minus for 80+ temps. They do not seem to have much affect for the passenger. We have riden with them for about 1 month and so far I think they are great.

Installation was a breeze (no pun intended!). The Dark Smoke looks great on my Illusion Blue bike and the fit is perfect. No need to notch the trim strips.

a little pricy for plastic, but installation was a snap better than some of the other ones, looks good. it's all about the looks.

Okay -- I have them on the bike now. A bit confusing at first, but it all made sense quickly. Hands are no longer getting cold. These lil guys push the air way out there. My co-rider says she can not tell the difference, but it's been so cold that she is bundled up 6 ways from sunday so.... (Can't feel the wind either way) I wish the center mount as about an 1/8 inch longer as it brings the inner edge of the wing right on the trim strip. The bolts that mount the wing to the mounting hardware are wayyyy too close to the bike's paint and I will be making my own mounting arms to fix these issues. I did NOT have to notch my trim strips. I did have to encourage them back into position due to the clearance issue(s) mentioned above. So far, I like the unit overall and I would purchase again. Fix the issues and this goes from a 3-star to a 5-star.

Not a review yet -- I would love to see better pic's of the unit installed and a copy of the install directions as well as pics of the notched trim strips. Can somebody e-mail me something please? firefitr@cxp.com

I just got these on Friday, I installed them that night I took them out for a test today the air temp. was 43 degrees they diverted so much cold air from my hands and arms. I comsider these a must have for the winter. Even if I have to take them off in the summer time. I am looking forward to warmer weather to see if they can stay. They are dark smoke, look real good on Pearl White Wing.

Looks great. Easy to install. Deflects the wind from the hands and upper legs. However, they will have to be for winter time only due to the radiator heat being forced to the lower legs. Does anyone know of a lower deflector that will work with these and deflect the heat from the lower legs?

I installed the wings, pretty straight forward. Once on the road, the heat from the radiator is VERY noticeable on my lower legs. I would recommend these for winter time use. I like the way they look, and think if they shortened the bottom to above the radiator vents to create a "summer" version, it might eliminate the heat problem.

This is the best looking wind deflectors out there. Easy installation. I waited since May for these Dragon Wings. I have one issue-I wish they dropped down the fairing a little more to cut down the heat from the radiator. Would purchase them again anyway.

Highly recommend these as they reduce wind turbulance for both the rider and passenger. The excess heat coming off the radiator is unchanged. I plan to order the lower fairing vents to see if this helps.Installation was very easy, no modifications needed.
