I have a 2008 GoldWing Trike.I wanted to install a gear indicator for heavy traffic in Houston. The instructions are very simple, but you have to cut off the connector, it is for 2006 and earlier GoldWings. It is behind the right locking box. The unit has instructions in the box. The connector has to be cut off!! Don't be alarmed! Just match up the wires by color and solder them together, don't use butt connectors because they will corrode and come apart down the road on you. Perform an electrical test before you button everything back and you should have it installed proper.

Great idea but I could not get the unit installed on my 2008 GL1800. I worked with the indicator OEM briefly to find a wiring harness/connector that would work with no positive results. If you have sucessfully installed this on your 2008 let Wingstuff know so they can let the rest of us know your process.

Your ad also fails to mention the fact, that if you have a NAVI package, the installation of this panel will remove the control panel for the Navigation system. This panel will only work with a "Plain Jane".

Easy to install if you TAKE YOUR TIME. I find myself looking at it at quite often. I'm not a long time wing rider like most of you and it sure helps to know what gear you are in around heavy traffic.

I like the guage,I have a couple of issues with it though.First the wire for the volt meter is about 3 inches to short going from right pocket to left pocket for access plug.On my 2006 GL1800 I had to switch the two red wires in harness around so the volt meter would work.Second, the directions say not to let harness pop back into frame of bike. This is no joke,my harness was tight to pull down plug needed, then the worst thing happened. The plug unpluged and I had one "hell" of a time getting the gear indicater pluged in.Besides that it was a worth while investment.Would not recomend novice mechanic to install
