Magnetic drain plug attracts and holds ferrous metal particles that circulate thru your lubricating system causing even faster wear on engine. Replaces the oil drain plug as well as the final drive oil drain plug on any Honda GL1100, GL1200, GL1500, GL1800 Gold Wing motorcycle.
Monitoring the plug during oil changes gives you an early warning of possible engine problems that could be developing. Replaces Honda Gold Wing Engine Oil Drain Plugs and Rear Final Drive Oil Drain Plug.

I got 2, one for the oil and one for the final drive. Easy to install and I hope it works and makes a difference.

Don't know if this is really necessary, but now that I have changed my oil after installing this I have to say it does work. I feel sure that the few metal shavings that were on the bolt when I removed it are better outside the engine then inside. For a few bucks it can't hurt.

I rated this 4 stars, not because it doesn't work, but because it may not be necessary. I bought two so I could use one in the motor oil and one in the final drive oil. When I pulled the final drive oil plug I discover that it was an OEM magnetic plug! (I have an '07 Wing.) Be sure you check your plug before buying this one for final drive oil... the OEM model is a better design that you won't want to replace with this one. For motor oil it's a great idea.

Follow-up; if you have item WSFW1, (Honda Oil Filter Smart Wrench with 17mm Drain Bolt End) the wrench will NOT fit this drain plug.
