when they work they work well however they are very fragile use extreme care when installing lay out the wires first, they get pinched or break very easy. this is my second set the first one only lasted two weeks "broken wires" the second has been functioning for two years. this item is a gamble

Mine works great. Can't imagine having NO lights on these displays. Even the display without the lights on, looks better than stock. My 2003 model did not come stock with this lighted display. Dealer put it on for me free!!!

My girfriend and I took a 6,000 mile trip last year and rode early in the morning a few times to beat the heat. Why Honda thought lights were not needed on the 2001s is beyond me. This product has not recieved good reviews, however, I bought one anyway. Took my time assembling and made sure the shrink tubing in fact did what is was supposed to do. Took my time running the wires and reassembling. Works great. Looks like its from the factory...now I will see how long it lasts.

I installed on my bike about 1 year ago. As other posts, these are very delicate to handle/install. The wires are very easily pinched when reinstalling the handle clamps. The first problem was the shrink tubing did not cover the connections properly and you would get shocked when you touched the clutch or brake lever. The second problem was a pinched wire down by the triple tree. This was intermittent and caused the motorcycle to run eratic. Now the right side has died. When they work, they are a nice addition. But do not know if they are really worth all the troubles and the short life of the lights.

Great addition to any 1800 who rides in the dark. Many good comments..be careful when you fit as they are quite fragile, but I recommend this item.
