Soundgates GL1800 Accessory Display Remote Interface connects Apple ipod or iPhone directly to your Honda GL1800 Gold Wing motorcycle factory audio system. Installed on-site @ WINGSTUFF this past weekend.
Works as promised with both ipod & iPhone (I have both). Hooked up the ipod - fast - sounds great - VERY HAPPY. The iPhone responds just a little slow when changing tracks (most likely a design/interface issue for the manufacturer). Also noticed that if the iphone goes to sleep - you may have to wake it up. THE BUILT IN CHARGING THAT SUPPORTS IPHONE and IPOD IS KEY. GLAD THEY GOT THAT RIGHT ALSO. |

Works just as advertised and sounds GREAT++++ Glad to see someone designed something like this for us who use iPods and iPhones. I always avoided buying the factory Honda CD player anyway because of the cost and the fact regular CD's are old technology anyway. I transferred all my personal CD music to digital a long time ago for that very reason. Let's face it, regular CD's are bulky and can melt in hot weather while stored inside the motorcycle.
Digital music is the way of the future and the only way to go! After using the Soundgate on my GL1800 and being able to control my iPod music using my factory handlebar controls is wonderful. I could not imagine riding my bike without the Soundgate. Another nice thing is the extra long connect cord included, it lets you keep your iPod anywhere on the bike and keeps the iPod charged. I decided to run the cord up to my left side fairing pocket so I quickly take it with me when getting off the bike. Don't even think twice, just buy it and you'll be glad you did. Fabulous Product!! Install was very easy and product does what it claims to do. However i have to give this 3 stars 50% of the reason i purchased this was for the display it shows that you get when item is installed. folks you will not see this and the (with or without) claim for the display is completely false YOUR display will remain the same. othere than that the unit preforms great. MR Stark Seattle WA.

just installed it.....the sound quality is excellent....the controls of the bike work just like its a cd player......I highly recommend it
