Perfect! Yes - be careful while installing - follow the directions carefully and patiently (there is an extra and I had to use it)! This, coupled with Steve Saunders solution, is the bomb! Take a look:

I think the product is great and RELATIVELY easy to install. I say relatively because you really, truly, absolutely, MUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! I thought I was, but as it turns out I was pulling the bumper end too hard and too fast. DO NOT DO THAT! If you take it nice and slow (and don't pull too hard) as the instructions state, the installation is a SNAP. In my case I was very thankful that a spare bumper had been included in the package.
Once the bumpers were installed they work as advertised. I wish I had known about them a year ago when I brought my 2008 GL1800. I could have avoided the wear now evident on my trunk lid edges. This is an excellent product and as many have said, should be standard equipment on Gold Wings. I highly recommend it. |

I have been searching for these for several months ever since my friend told me about them. I couldn't find them anywhere so I put the thought aside. Thanks Wingstuff for finding this product. I should have known you would come through sooner or later. As for the bumpers, a definite must have. Cheap insurance against a scuffed trunk. The install was easy and the spare wasn't needed. Next time you go shopping, throw these in your cart.

Great, works as advertised and easy install, just used a little liquid soap on he nips, used a small set of regular head pliers and they seemed to work better than needle nosers, my trunk on the 08 was very loose and with the luggage rack on it I was worried the next long trip would result in MORE damage, this is one of those SIMPLE BUT MUST HAVE items that honda should be installing at the factory, where ever the hell it is now!!
