Purchased the left side pocket. The key to making the latch work after installation is adding a small washer under the latch on the door, so it has a longer reach to compensate for there being a strap under the door. You will also need to add a washer under the release screw on the door so it will be long enough to unlatch the door. Takes 5 minutes to do this. You can open the left side stock compartment easily leaving the Add-A-Pocket in place by sliding your index finger under the Add-A-Pocket to the press button release. To close do the same and press ABOVE the release button for easy latching. It makes the unlockable stock compartment a hidden compartment to unenlightened thieves. Would have given a higher rating if the inboard side would have been more custom shaped to more easily clear the headset cord plug.

I just returned from a 100 day, 15,000 mile tour around the US (http://www.darnton.ws/~USA_2009_Motorcycle_Tour/) with these pouches. Truth be told, they're pretty cheesy - without doubt the cheesiest things on my bike - and they interfere with closing the compartment lids, but I got used to it and found them to be useful enough to keep. First thing I did was cut out the zippers with a razor blade - all they do is limit the size of what can go in the pouch, and that matters a lot more to me than cosmetics. Those zippers are In The Way. I keep things in them like iPod & GPS cords, DC-AC inverters, rags, Windex, pen, notebook, tire pressure gauge, camera accessories, "business" cards, garage remote, and anything else I want near at hand without getting off the bike. And I keep a map stuffed underneath the left one. I just wish the attachments weren't so darned ham-fisted. It would honestly be better if they stuck onto the lids with adhesive velcro. You have to need this storage pretty badly to put up with these. I did. Oh, and in heavy rain they get wet inside! So watch what you put in there. The notebook, for example . . .

They are probably pretty functional, IF you can get them to stay in place while traveling. The backing is such that velcro doesn't stick to it, and you end up pulling the velcro strip off before it releases from the other portion of the velcro.

They look a little cheap, and the edges do curl, just as another reviewer noted. I'll use them for long trips - but probably won't leave them on full time.

Low cost and great storage. The straps are pain as they make it hard to close the fairing pockets. I cut them off and used a strong velcro and am very pleased!

Decent, inexpensive additional storage without covering too many controls.
