Honda GL1800 Accessory Kuryakyn Driver Backrest SUPER SALE

Very nice addition to the bike. The three position adjustability is a plus however the positioning is a little off for my comfort. The bar rising up does rest against my wife's legs but does not cause great discomfort. Overall, this extends comfort, looks nice and is very functional... would be nice for additional control with the cushion itself, meaning designing in a feature to adjust the cushion fore/aft 1/4 to 1/2 an inch shouldn't be too hard.

Well friends I know that my opinion is going to be unpopular to the vertically challenged but please try to understand that this is being written by someone who is 6'4" tall and 255lbs, for like sized motorcyclists.

The back rest appears to be of good construction and aside from the nightmare I had trying to pull the (backrest) bars apart to lock it into place the poor quality screws are my only other gripe.

The screws stripped out (which is par for the course with Kuryakyn) during install so I have to go and find replacements. I knew that as big as I am I would have to put the backrest on, the 3rd position.

Once it was mounted I took my trusty wing for a ride. The Kuryakyn backrest ruined the most comfortable motorcycle I had ever driven. Even at the furthest back position I am shoved too far forward kinking my legs into a painful position.

My highway pegs are as far forward as they can go and now they are too close to me! I am trying to find out if I can bend the bars back a half an inch too make it useable but the current opinion is that it's not possible without compromising the integrity of the backrest.

If you are a large man as am I, try anything other than the Kuryakyn backrest. For those of you out there who are shorter I am sure its a fine product and I will gladly sell you mine! SERIOUSLY!

This is one of the first accessories I put on my 09 GL1800. Made my first long trip a comfortable and enjoyable ride. My Wife has long legs and had no complaints on the ride to Georgia.

POOR BAD CROME PITS AND LOOK LOOK BAD

A very welcome addition to the goldwing. I have to use the front position when my wife rides with me and it puts me too far forward so I just take it off. I find the back position most comfortable when alone.
