Installation went exactly as I expected... Placed order, refresh my mind how to remove the lens. Packages arrive, rip box open, drool over new toys (I mean essential safety improvements). Place bike on centerstand, tear into right, remove oem lens, reinstall bulbs into sockets, install new Euro lens, Insert key to test, and the fun begins....right tail light not coming on, inspect bulb is ok, try again..nothing....Find the directions in the box and review them, tail light still not working so I jump to the left side, remove, install, test left side....and now none of my trunk tail lights are coming on, but brake lights come on. Test the connections, all good, power fine. Get frustrated, go out to dinner, buy new bulbs at the only store that would have them this time of night..Super Wal-Mart...I swear the should install a train that takes you from one side of the store to the other, installed them and all the light are now working.
But on the serious side these were extremely easy to install and dramatically changes the look of the bike from the rear. These appear to be a little brighter then stock. I went ahead and changed out my bulbs since I already had the lens out. I agree with Brad about the sockets not being in the same position as the stock lens. It took me a few minutes to realize they didn't line up. Just pay attention and make sure your bulb filaments are all lined up the same (doesn't affect the function of the lights, just an aesthetics thing). A little grease helps the installation process. I also purchased the saddle lights and those took about 15 minutes to install. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase.
