Texelent GL1800 Accessory Mount Bar STD or PLUS

Excellent product, one thing which should had been done, the four long bolt which came with the bar should had been chrome and not just normal metal bolts.

I used this to mount my i way 700 GPS Navigation system. It was very easy to install. Has several options for hight and position. Allows me the option to mount my GPS in the center of the bike for easy line of sight visualization without having to add other accessories on my handlebars.

Excellent quality and provides a very stable base for GPS and MP3 player. The only negative is the bar was too long and extended past the mounting supports to the point it interfered with the reverse and mute switches. I had to cut 1" off each end for proper fit. You shouldn't have to take a hacksaw to something that costs $135. Mounting, finish and fit was otherwise excellent.

First saw this product mounted on another Ontario GL 1800 down in Rapid City, S.D. He loved it so ordered one.
Just installed mine on my GL 1800 last night. Installation was a breeze and quality of product excellent. A word of caution if you also ordered a cup holder! Order the extra long allen screws when you have the Accessory Mount bar and cup holder mount or face triming down the 4 spacers by about 3/8" in order for the long allen screws that Texelent provides to bite.
The accesory mount bar now allows me to mount my Garmin GPSmapCX on to my bike by using Garmin's bicycle mount. All set for this summer!

Let me be the first to comment on this exelent product. I was after something vibration free to mount my BMW Navigator III, which is the blue tooth version of the Garmin Street Pilot 2610. I took it off my last bike which was a vary nice BMW R1200RT. My version sits in a BMW supplied bracket, which has an extra 4 buttons on the left side, being 'enter', 'zoom in', 'zoom out' and 'exit'. I also ordered the 6 hole bracket, to suit. I fitted the unit to my 2005 GL1800 with the bar in the low forward position and found it to be unobtrusive. I dont have to look at it as I travel along as it talks to me via a bluetooth helmet intercom. The upper forward position, on the handlebars put the Navigator too high and in your face, as it is a big unit. I have just done a 1000km round trip and only had to adjust the Navigator down to reduce glare on the screen. The bar supplied is black so blends in with the handlebars and other black parts of the cockpit. I recommend this bar if you have a GPS, especially a Garmin 2610.
