Kuryakyn Chrome Luggage Rack w/Rubber Inlay for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU7151,   SKU: KU7151

04.11.2010
Installed this rack today. Great look on the bike! I found the installation instructions clear enough for a change. There are a few things I'd suggest:

1. Clarify product description on the riser topic. Based on reviews I ordered a set - and didn't need them.

2. Provide star washers to ensure the load is spread on the lid.

3. Some might find drilling holes at angles to match leg angles a challenge. Relax. If off a bit, drill a slightly larger hole. Which would be no issue if the washers were a tad larger.

4. And the biggest one: the rack comes with a sticker limiting weight to 5 lbs. Even Honda isn't THAT conservative.

Ergo II Highway Pegs for GL1800 Gold Wing
ITEM CODE: KU4056,   SKU: KU4056

04.11.2010
Installed these pegs this morning - substantial feel, quality fit, first-rate appearance.

I found the instructions murky - literally - in that the photos were dark and, in one case, the written instructions pointed me to the wrong photo...cost one star in my rating. I'd also suggest adding pictures of the hardware to the "Included" list and clarifying the use of the three different washers. The assumption on Kuryakyn's part that installers will recognize the arcane references to the various fasteners makes little sense. I don't recognize a BSCS vs HHCS fastener. Also, the parts list indicates that the two major fasteners are the same diameter/thread pitch. They aren't! Finally, this accessory comes with several subassemblies pre-assembled- you won't find all the listed parts in the box unless you take these apart. These cost the pegs a second star.

One personal preference - I found mounting the 2nd peg easier as I assembled it before attaching it to the bike. Looking forward to a trial ride soon!
