Update: Info from a bike rental shop
| Forgot to mention in my review below that when we were touring Route 66 in August this year (with a tour group on a rental Goldwing), I've noticed that all the bikes in the rental shop in Chicago were hooked up to these chargers. When asked, the guy said they've had no problems with any of them and are quit happy with their performance. So I guess that is testimony in itself. |

Works great but running very hot
| It has been about 18 months since I bought mine (see my previous review and warning to international customers). I had it almost permanently connected to my bike via the convenient fly-lead tucked under the side cover for easy access. It worked great and did exactly as advertised. Hover, it ran VERY hot - so hot I could not touch it, which is why I didn't have it switched on all the time, which really defeats the object of having this in the first place. This may be due to the fact that unlike most modern electronic gadgets with built-in support for 110V to 240V, this charger is not really built for international markets - only runs on 110V and I had it plugged into a 240V to 110V step-down transformer. In fear of a meltdown and possible fire hazard, I have since retired this charger and bought a different charger from a local retailer that is built for use with 240V and it works pergectly. |

Glad I had it when I needed it!
| Its been over a year since I bought mine (see my previous review for full details). Like Thom, I had it for a while before I needed it. Coming home from a camping adventure my camper trailer picked up a puncture that required inflating it every 30-35 miles. Boy, was I glad I had this compressor! It worked without any issue and my only frustration was like I mentioned in my previous review - no gage to give you a rough indication of how it's progressing before you make the final test with a proper gage. So it took a little longer that what it should, having to take it off and putting it on several times before it was properly inflated. I have used this for other purposes too, like inflating our bicycle wheels and even the car wheel once, and it never overheated or experienced any problem. Like I said in my previous review - it is a great compressor and better to have one and not need it than to need one and not have it and it is well worth the price. |

One year later and still holding
| I bought this hitch about a year ago and at the time I was concerned about its durability, specifically the twisting force caused by the long tongue (see my previous review). I'm happy to report that after towing both a small trailer of about 260 pounds for +/- 800 miles and a camper trailer of about 480 pounds for +/- 1,600 miles, the hitch is still holding and there are no visible signs of any damage or bending. Arguably I haven't done enough towing to make a realistic assessment but in my view, if there were any serious flaws it would've revealed itself by now. Like I said in in my other reviews, this is a great hitch and in my view the best out there and I still put my money on this hitch. But, the jury is still out about its long term durability. |

Very classy and high quality
| I got a set for my 2012 and I say this about every Honda accessory I have purchased - top quality even if it is a bit expensive. You really do get what you pay for. They fit perfectly, especially the trunk liner which fills out all of the trunk space. They feel very strong and durable and really looks very upper class, fit for carrying into a 5-star hotel. I also have the Honda saddlebag/trunk mats (reviewed separately) and they don't cause any fitting problems for the saddlebag liners. The trunk liner have a separate pocket on each side of about 3" wide with its own external zipper. Ideal for those smaller items that you need to gain access to in a hurry. The saddlebag liners open on the side just like the saddlebag, which makes packing your clothes and getting things out a lot easier - no digging required. Just like a suitcase. They all come with their own shoulder straps for easy carrying. If you travel a lot, get yourself a set. You won't regret it. |

Protect your bike!
| This is my second review, this time for the 2012 model (previously reviewed the mask for the 2010). This one is actually a better fit than the 2010 and I thought the 2010 was pretty damn good. I have a lot less chrome on my 2012 Wing compared to my 2010, but it would not have made any difference to the fit of the nose mask due to the differently designed fairing (much better!). If fits snugly and took all of 5 min to fit - really easy! Like I said before - you cannot go wrong with this product. |

Concerned about tongue length
| This is my second Bushtec hitch. I had one on my 2010 Goldwing and I was very happy with its performance and strength. The 2012 model looks exactly like the 2010 model - the only difference seems to be the chrome tongue length which is longer on the 2012 to reach beyond the new rear fender design. This is a bit of a concern to me as it seems to flex a lot under the trailer weight, especially causing the center removable piece to twist slightly under weight. I think the longer tongue is behaving like a lever which is putting more pressure on the weld of the square tubing and twisting pressure on the mounting frame. A normal, short tongue won't twist but rather will put downward pull on the center piece which is designed to handle such forces. Time will tell if this model is going to be strong enough. Because I have fitted one before, fitting this one was really a breeze - I knew exactly how to install it. I did not time it but I think it took me about 90 min to 2 hours to mount it with the bike on a lift. I also fitted the Bushtec trailer isolator kit at the same time. 3 Stars only, because of the longer tongue and obvious change in forces on the hitch since it wasn't properly redesigned for the 2012 Goldwing. Had I known this when I ordered it (the images on Wingstuff is the same for both 2010 and 2012 models which is misleading) I probably would have considered another hitch, for peace of mind. You don't want to worry all the time if it will hold your precious trailer and cargo. |

Great protection and looks
| As you would expect from Honda, yet another quality product and well worth the money. Not only does it protect against stones and bugs it also looks good and easy to clean. I only use it on long trips and it is very easy to fit and remove. If you have fairing accessories like Baker Built wings and other chrome bits, then it can be a bit of a challenge to get a snug fit, but once you get the hang of it, it's really not a problem. It will stretch a bit over time to hug the fairing for a better fit (like gloves). Get one, you will love it! |

A must-have item
| Does exactly as advertised. Compact - easily fits into the saddlebag or trunk. If you tow a trailer, you'll have peace of mind having this item. Make sure you hook it up to a 12V connection with it's own separate fuse (or directly to the battery) as using this for more than a few minutes at a time WILL blow the fuse of the accessory power (located in the left fairing pocket). It would've been really handy if it had a small in-line gauge to give you a rough idea of the pressure as you're inflating. You end up putting it on and taking it off several times in fear of over inflating the wheel. Still, for the price and its intended purpose, this is a great mini compressor and definitely will be a life saver. Hopefully you'll never need it. |

Works great but works only with 110V mains!
| Works as advertised and has 3 different ways to connect to the battery. International customers beware! This unit only works with 110V mains and cannot be switched. It will NOT work with 220V - 240V mains like Australia. This is not mentioned anywhere on the Wingstuff product page. I had to buy a step-down transformer from 220V to 110V that cost me almost double the price of the charger. Wingstuff, you need to make mention of this on your website to warn international customers that this unit will ONLY work with 110V mains with the US wall socket configuration (2 flat pins). Only 2 stars because I would not have bought it had I known about the 110V. |

Best Hitch I have owned
| Design seems to be strong. Mounts to the frame at 4 points compared to some others that mounts primarily to the saddlebag sub frame. Also attaches to the saddlebag sub frame with u-bolts to help hold it in position when the center piece holding the receiver is removed to allow for easier removal of the rear wheel. Install took about 3 hours and can probably be done in less time if Bushtec used metric fasteners, removing the need for a trip to the local hardware store to get imperial spanners. This is a metric bike so I cannot understand why some Goldwing accessories are still made according to imperial standards. I lowered the right-side muffler which made it easy enough to fit the bolt and nut and I was even able to get the torque wrench in to properly torque the nut. I agree with all others about better instructions needed. I too used the online photos and instructions published by Stephen (thanks for sharing!). I rerouted the harnesses on both sides under the seat where the brackets are fitted to the saddlebag frame bolts. This made it very easy to fit and eliminated the risk if it being pinched, possibly causing a short circuit. Overall I am very happy with the final result as far as strength and fitment is concerned. We have just returned from a trip pulling the trailer with about 140 kg cargo for 1,500 KM and I did not even know it was there. After arriving back home I checked the hitch and it was still solid. I will post again after I’ve done some more serious miles. I only have one disappointing issue – the chrome receiver looks great but the chrome underneath is pitted and rough and the inside if the shaft is not fully chromed and already showing signs of rust. It is not visible when fitted but for the price you pay for this hitch, I was expecting a better quality chrome finish. 4 Stars only because of the instructions and disappointing chrome but I would buy it again and would still recommend this to anybody. |

Check the template
| Update: When I saw Kenneth's review I realised that I forgot to mention in my previous review about the template being wrong (seems to be too far forward on the right). I also omitted the exact steps I took to fit it correctly as I was preparing for a long trip and didn’t have the time, so I will give that feedback now. As with any other accessory that requires drilling, you should always measure more than once to make 100% sure it is fitted correctly. I followed the next few simple steps to ensure it was mounted correctly: 1. I used the template to mark the holes. 2. I drilled only one hole on the left that is just big enough for the screw to fit. I chose the one closest to the back of the bike. 3. I screwed in all of the screws into the spoiler except for the one I drilled the hole for. 4. I taped masking tape on top of the lid approx where the rest of the holes should go. 5. Using a longer screw through the drilled hole, I mounted the spoiler, being careful not to let the spoiler slip and damage the paint. Only hand-tight. 6. I closed the lid (do this slowly) and carefully moved the spoiler until it was positioned correctly (I used a measuring tape to make sure it is the same distance from the pillion backrest on both sides). 7. With a felt-tipped pen I marked the position of the screw heads on the masking tape and carefully removed the spoiler. 9. Once removed I marked the centre of each screw position and drilled a small hole for each screw. 10. I refitted the spoiler using the one long screw. 11. With my wife’s help I held the spoiler firmly in place and slowly lifted the lid. Make sure it doesn’t slip or it will damage the lid! 12. I used a small screwdriver to insert into one of the holes on the right to help keeping the spoiler in place. I chose the one diagonally across from the one with the long screw fitted. 12. By looking through each of the holes in turn, I was able to determine if the holes were properly aligned with the spoiler, and if not, I could see in which direction to enlarge each hole. You can carefully move the spoiler up and down if you want to get a feeling of what needs to be done. 13. I started with the hole where I inserted the screwdriver and made the hole just large enough to fit another long screw through. 14. Now with 2 screws in place to hold the spoiler, I once again closed the lid and measured the distances again, taking note of any adjustments needed. 15. Once I had the 2 holes aligned perfectly, I continued with the rest, making small adjustments at a time until the holes were perfectly aligned and slightly bigger than the screws to allow for final alignment. 16. At this point I peeled off the masking tape, and drilled the hole for the wires according to the template marking. 17. For final fitment I screwed in all screws (hand tight), closed the lid, measured the distances from the sides and front and moved the spoiler until it was perfect. Then holding it firm while opening the lid (again, my wife helped) I tightened all screws. 18. A final measure confirmed that it was perfect. Plugging-in the wires was merely a formality. Job done! |
