About:

Hi everyone this is Chris & Diane,

We have 3 kids and 2 dogs (same as more kids).
My oldest son is an Apache pilot in the Army and has 1 tour in Iraq 10/11’. He is shipping out to Afghanistan this fall
My daughter is married with two children; her husband is on his 4th tour this time in Afghanistan.
My youngest son is studying to be a film director

We bought our 1st Gold Wing in Aug 2007. I absolutely love this bike; we put 300 to 500 miles each day we go out. It is the only bike I could ride over 150 miles in the same day and not need a day to recover.

The sad news is that I buckled under the pressure from my wife (She has a HD Street -Glide) and traded the Gold Wing for a 2012 HD Electra-Glide Ultra-Limited. It definitely doesn’t have the power or speed of the Wing but next year I will upgrade to a Stage 4 kit that will give me roughly 125HP and 140 ft pounds of torque depending on the muffler options. Other than that is a nice bike.

Please support our troops – Thanks
Chris

Performance Stainless Belly Pan

Great product I hear the stones hitting it from the front tire all the time. It makes you wonder how the overflow tank can survive the pounding from stones. I would recommend it to anyone.

VStream Quantum Hard Coated Windshield for GL1800
ITEM CODE: PG24215

Quantum Windshield, see my 5/9/10 picture. I purchased this in January 09’. I like the stock windshield for its looks only. I found that it created a back draft that gave me a lot of neck pain after only 2 hours of riding and made it difficult to keep my back warm in cool weather. So I looked for a while and took a chance on this windshield. I thought it looked a little odd but liked it once I put it on. The curve (inside radius of the shield) on it was a little larger than the body so you have to manipulate it a little during assembly. It can be raised and lowered but is a little more difficult than the stock one. It didn’t completely eliminate the back draft but it help considerably. My neck doesn’t start to bother me until I have gone past 10 hours of riding. It also creates a bigger air pocket than the stock one and hearing the radio is about the same. Overall I really like this wind shield and would recommend it to anyone.

Bridgestone Tires for GL1800 & F6B
ITEM CODE: PG02700

Quantum Windshield - Clear Signal Lights

My 07’ Wing came with the Bridgestone G709 130/70R18 front and the G704 180/60R19 rear. They currently have 15K and are still going, see my 5/9/10 picture. I don’t baby my tires but I don’t abuse them either. I drive through the mountains of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont every weekend so these tires see a lot of deep corning, and braking. I would say that my driving is about 40% straight up and 60% cornering and my wife is on the bike 30% of the time. The tires stick well in deep high speed corners but if pushed they will drift through the turns and I find that they are very manageable. The break away is smooth and you know where you are atmeanign they don’t just give way. This bike with these tires handles much the same as my sport bikes only it is carrying a lot more weight. I just purchased another set but I am waiting because I think I will get another 2K out of the first set. I was thinking about trying the Elite 3s because I have had very good luck with Dunlops on my sport bikes but the comments about rain bothered me. So I didn’t change because I don’t like to slow down because of rain (unless I can’t see) and because the Bridgestone’s stick like glue in the rain; that includes hard acceleration, braking and corning. I have never hydroplaned on these tires even when cruising the highway at 70-75 in the pouring rain. My ability to see has been my only limitation in the rain with these tires. Like others have said they can be noisy when cornering but you get used to it. That would be my only complaint but I consider that minor. I still give it a 5 star.
