It's true the Honda Gold Wing is the most sophisticated motorcycle ever created in history. I am sure every Wing owner is baffled as to why their suspension works so poorly. If you are tired of the bouncing, wallowing, bottoming, chattering, wobbling of your stock forks, then TRAXXION DYNAMICS has the CURE!!!
Traxxion offers a GL1500 and GL1800 Fork Cartridge Kit called a AK-20, as well as performance fork springs, fork brace and a performance rear shock that can be purchased without the need of returning your old shock.
Many People Ask, Why Are My Stock Forks So Bad?
Your stock Showa forks have a "damper rod" in one side and an extremely low quality cartridge in the other side to control the movement of the wheel. The damper rod side is basically useless. This style of fork is used for cheap production parts. Trying to compare a damper rod fork to a proper cartridge fork is like trying to compare a carburetor to fuel injection. There simply is no comparison. The damper rod fork is the cheapest, poorest performing system of damping, and has been around the motorcycle business for so long nobody seems to be able to remember.The "cartridge fork" came along about 20 years ago in sport bikes, and since has been highly refined. Unfortunately for Wing owners, none of that refinement has made it into the cartridge on the ONE side of your bike!
Traxxion Says Get Rid Of Mushy Stock Fork Springs
The next problem is your stock fork springs. The stock springs are so weak and wimpy that they can't even hold the bike up; never mind that they are completely unable to hold you up when you get on it, or take a passenger along. Just pick your bike up off the side stand sometime and watch it collapse before you even get on!The result is a fork that bottoms over large bumps, wallows in high speed turns, dives dramatically when you pull the brake, cups and tears up your tires, and leaves you generally feeling uncomfortable and lacking confidence in the feel of your bike.
Complete dissertations have been written by Gold Wing tuners and enthusiasts on the internet on the subject of wobbling Gold Wings and what to do to fix them. At best, the solutions offered are "work arounds" to the real problem. "Overtighten your steering bearings" seems to be the best known cure to date.

Race Tech Fix For GL1800 Gold Wing Front Suspension
Race Tech offers a fix for your mushy GL1800 front forks by re-valving the internal components with their world famous Gold Valve Kit. This is the Newly Updated Kit that replaces last years version and it is truly amazing what a difference you will feel riding your GL1800 Gold Wing after installation.

Race Tech GL1800 Gold Wing Rear Shock Upgrade
The Honda GL1800 Gold Wing is a great motorcycle, but the suspension can use some work. The main issue with the GL1800 is the springs are way too soft. So much so that ground clearance on cornering is an issue. Most GL1800 riders know this but especially with the front Anti-dive it’s also way harsher than it could be. If only the springs are replaced the action is even harsher!Additional: The Remote Preload Adjuster line swells and limits the range of adjustment. The Honda Gold Wing motorcycle is legendary, it's by far the most comfortable, best performing touring motorcycle in the world. The Gold Wing is a totally different bike than the one I brought you. The level of comfort, handling and the overall feel has improved tenfold.
Just prior to bringing the bike to you, my wife and I did a two hundred mile ride. I had to set the suspension to twenty five to try to get rid of the mushy feel and get any comfort out of the ride, and even that wasn’t near as comfortable as a Gold Wing motorcycle should be.
As I left your shop with my new suspension I could immediately feel the difference, and the guys did a great job of getting the dampening just right. I aimed for every bump and irregularity I could find and glided over them as smoothly as if they weren’t there, and that was with the suspension set at “zero”. WOW, what a difference.
Now, I’m not a little fellow at 230 pounds, but with the suspension set at two or three I’m very comfortable. If I’m riding twisty’s I might push it up to five or six. And speaking of twisty’s, for a large bike, the handling of the GL1800 is second to none. Add in the RaceTech suspension and it makes it effortless to get around those corners and setup for the next. I can feel the bike so much better, the bike tracks truer and I feel more confident than I ever have. My slow speed handling is greatly improved too.
Soon after the RaceTech upgrade we loaded up the bike (including a trailer hitch rack) and set out on a 2000 mile ride. With the suspension set at nine, and everything but the kitchen sink we had a smooth ride and great handling through four states, on all kinds of roads and in all kinds of conditions.
